THE PROJECT>

The Cessna 172S, first built in the late 90s, is an updated version of the classic Cessna 172 Skyhawk, the most produced aircraft in history. Thanks to 172s’ popularity, the Generation Global team has lots of experience working with them. For this project, we provided a complete interior revamp, furnishing everything from seat covers and cushions to carpets to glareshields and sidewall trims. We also repaired and painted all sidewalls and replaced the sidewall inserts.

The original interior featured Taupe side walls with Matterhorn seats and sage inserts. We provided a new, more modern color scheme rooted in sands and beiges. The new interior also boasts a variety of textures. The seats feature smooth Savannah leather, while the sidewall trim fabric inserts provide a textured finish.

The seat covers were furnished in the “new” Cessna seat design (which was first offered in 1996). Each seat has a circular seat insert, with rounded lines being intersected by the seat bolsters on the base and back. To contrast with the beige-colored leather seats, we provided a glareshield eyebrow, covered with the contour stretch vinyl, in matte black.

We painted each side trim to precisely match the leather color of the seats. The side panels have inserts on both faces, while the rear panel has inserts on the door. The inserts feature a handsome hatched fabric - its catalog-listed color is “Gull.”  That carpet, carefully cut to match the exact specifications of this aircraft, was Ash in color and bound with black binding.
