We love it when clients reward our quality work with more projects. After having worked on the interior of a particular client’s helicopter, they reached out to us to see if we could help with their PA42 Cheyenne - and we were more than up to the task. We don’t get the chance to work on this rarer Piper Model as often, so this was a fun project for us. We offered a complete re-outfitting of this aircraft’s interior, all of which was done in conjunction with engineering work.

This was a complex project that involved a significant amount of fine detail work. We paid close attention to everything from the textures in the fabric sidewalls to the quilting on leather seats to the wood grain trim found throughout the entire interior. Our team took care to use complementary colors and materials - for instance, the greys used in the seats were paired with red-stitched insert quilting and white-flecked sidewalls.

Before we could get to the fine work, though, we had to completely strip this aircraft down. We restyled all the seats with a streamlined design that offered a more modern feel. Newly reshaped inserts were given handsome red quilting (SA-10), while the lead grey leather (ADI-1111) seat covers got silver stitching on their outer seams.

To create a cohesive theme, the same lead grey leather that was used on the seats was also utilized on the inset surfaces of the tray tables as well as other surfacing. Those tray tables were also outfitted with wood grain cup holders and inserts. We then used that same attractive wood grain to finish the storage drawers under the seats as well as the bulkheads.

We used a rather unusual carpet, Genflor Peat (WIN-120), for this plane’s interior. This lighter gray carpet happened to match the sidewalls well while also offering a contrast that helped the darker, lead leather seats stand out. The carpet was bound on its edges with black binding and was fashioned to leave the seating tracks partially visible. Generation Global’s wide selection and deep product knowledge are two of the reasons clients trust us with important projects like these.

We also outfitted the headlinings, upper sidewalls, and baggage door. These were wrapped in white ultraleather, a synthetic vinyl. It takes great skill and practice for a panel wrapper to properly place these panels and make them look brand new. When completed, the wrap provided added depth of texture - and the careful wrap job will ensure the panels remain in good condition for years.
