THE PROJECT >

This project included Generation Global hand-making segregation ropes for an airline in the UAE. Aircraft cabins are divided into different seat classes, to do this the cabin has a wall as high as the seats and tinted translucent shields to the overhead PSU. While in flight the cabin crew are able to place the segregation rope between the two dividers to segregate the compartments.

The segregation ropes are leather-wrapped rope and hand stitched together. The rope ends house magnets which allow it to attach to the dividers. The magnet ends are covered with suede and the outside wrapped with leather and inscribed with the branding of the airline. The ropes are varied in length for the different cabin dividers.
