THE PROJECT>

It’s no surprise that our team frequently works on Bell 206s - in production for over 50 years, they’re one of the most popular utility helicopters on the market. For this project, we helped outfit a client’s Bell 206L LongRanger, which is an extended, seven-seater version of the classic 206. Our team provided new seating, a new center console, and new carpets. All parts seen here are available for purchase on Generation Global’s website.

The LongRanger is configured with a row of three, forward-facing passenger seats, which sit opposite the two aft-facing executive seats. We provided smooth, chocolate leather (ADI-4181) coverings with matching stitching for each.

Digging down past the surface, each seat was refurbished from the frame out - that included new slings and seat foams as well as covers. All parts were carefully fitted to their frames at Generation Global’s Nelson facility. Crew seats were given movable lumbar elements with pull tabs that allow for easy adjustment. Rear passenger seats, meanwhile, were given sharp, horizontal stitching lines.

The headrests of the crew and aft-facing seats are aligned back-to-back, and since each aft seat is angled, their headrests are as well. Each headrest was outfitted in the same chocolate leather as the seat covers, as was the center console, which sits between the two aft-facing seats. Fine-line stitching on the console’s edges helped create a refined look.

Carpets were precision-cut to cover the front floor mats, the area between the rear seats, and the area below the platforms (to which the seats are mounted). All carpet pieces were Bastille, and we provided them with matching edging. Although this project involved a few more seats than our typical helicopter interior jobs, we were up to the challenge - both our team and our client were very pleased with the finished product!
