BK117 air ambulance interior

This project included the supply of interior parts for a client's BK117 helicopter. The aircraft is used as an air ambulance meaning it has an aero-medical fit-out in the main cabin. The interior parts supplied included the crew seat upholstery, new control boots, floor coverings, and pull handles.

The two crew seats are high back seats with hexagonal-style headrests. The whole seat structures were sent to Generation Global for refurbishment. The seat frames were cleaned, prepared, and repainted in a satin black before being upholstered.

The seat covers were manufactured using black leather (ADI-1091). The leather section on the seat face center panels has been perforated and features horizontal seams which give the seat its form. The outer seams of the seats are stitched with decorative black double stitching.

New control boots and pull handles were manufactured using the same black leather that is found on the seat covers. The floor coverings in the cabin were manufactured using a lightweight nylon carpet. The carpet color is slate and is a strong, high-wearing nylon carpet.
