THE PROJECT >

This project entailed a new interior for this client's Cessna 172M aircraft. The interior work included refurbished seating, new floor coverings, refurbished headlining, new sidewall linings, and other detailing. The color scheme of the aircraft was a contrast of lead grey and light beige tones.

THE PROJECT >

The light beige colorings in the aircraft are found in the cabin sidewalls, the plastics, and headlining. The sidewall linings in the aircraft's cabin are supplied new including the backing panels. The panels are wrapped in a light beige vinyl and feature lead grey piping lines that run horizontally down the aircraft. The armrest and pull handles also use black leather (ADI-1091).

The headlining in the aircraft is a fabric headlining in a matching light beige color. The plastic trims in the aircraft were painted to match the color of the sidewall vinyl. The sidewalls are available to order on the Generation Global website as a direct replacement for the sidewalls in this model of Cessna 172.

The seat covers and the carpet floor coverings were both grey tones. The carpet on the floor and lower sidewalls are the Genflor ash carpet. The seating in the aircraft was refurbished from the frame up with new diaphragms glued to the frame, and new cushions and leather dress covers fitted.

The seat covers are the 1962-86 generation of Cessna seats. The covers were manufactured using lead grey leather (ADI-1111) and the seams are stitched using matching stitching. The seat covers feature a perforated insert in SP-1 perforation.

Other parts included the refurbishment of the control yokes, the glare shield being recovered, and the rear baggage area refurbished. The glare shield was removed and wrapped in black UV-resistant black vinyl. The instrument panel plastic was painted in mat black and replacement placards were fitted.
