This project - which saw our team refurbish the interior of a Cessna T182 Turbo Skylane - provides a perfect example of the quality workmanship for which we strive. Check out the Generation Global online shop.

For this plane’s interior, we used Samt Beige Leather (ADI-4231) throughout. Going for a cohesive theme, we utilized this leather on the seating, side panels, and trim pieces such as the armrests and pull handles. A darker coloured carpet and lighter coloured ceiling help to give the interior a feeling of spaciousness.

To refurbish the seats, we began by stripping them back to their frames. After repainting the frames, we added new foam cushions and, finally, new dress covers. The seat dress covers were made from the above-mentioned Samt Beige Leather and featured perforated inserts. With great attention to detail, our team embroidered the Cessna logo on each seat’s backrest.

The main feature of the sidewalls was not the soft furnishings but the handsome wood detailing. Wooden armrests and pullhandles, meanwhile, were carefully wrapped in Samt Beige Leather.

For the flooring and lower sidewalls, we used Liberty Bark carpet. The carpet segments along the front and side panels were edged with black vinyl. The front panel also includes a transparent pocket, which can be used to stow the pilot’s documents.

For this aircraft’s headlining, we used a foam-backed beige fabric. The headlining consisted of many plastic trim parts, including seatbelt shields and the overhead console. The plastic trim was painted to perfectly match the chalk vinyl. The door draught excluders were also made to match the colouring on the headlining and trim.
