Early Cessna C172 Skyhawk design

This project saw our team provide a totally new interior for a Cessna 172 Skyhawk. We installed everything from early-design seats to new sidewall panels to carpets. The sidewalls and carpets seen here are available on Generation Global’s website.

The seats in this Skyhawk sported original curved-top designs that saw use in the very first generation of Cessna aircraft. Each seat was fitted out with replacement cushions and covers (including a skirt for the two front seats). Covers were made from handsome charcoal grey leather (ADI-1121), and all stitching was done in a matching colour.

The side wall panels for this aircraft came with premade ABS plastic parts. Each sidewall segment was wrapped with a two-tone colour scheme: a lighter buttermilk vinyl on top and bottom was complemented by a horizontal center band that was done in a darker, charcoal-coloured vinyl.

The assist straps above the doors were also wrapped in charcoal leather and then hand stitched. Finally, for this aircraft’s flooring, we used Genflor ash carpet, which was edged with black binding.
