THE PROJECT >

This project involved Generation Global manufacturing replacement cargo nets for the Fokker 100 aircraft. These parts were supplied to the client as a complete assembly with approved design data and installation approval. Generation Global is involved in design, certification, and manufacture of nets for many different client needs.

The nets are manufactured from a heavy duty 25mm (1”) aviation webbing with a rated strength of 2,000kg (4409 Lbs). The attachment to the aircraft fuselage is by rated cargo studs and the net is tensioned using rated Cam buckles. All hardware meets MIL spec requirements for aviation use. All stitching is rated and is carried out using a computer bar-tagger machine to ensure the exact sewing path and stitches per CM are maintained.

THE CLIENT>

The client is a regional operator in Australia with regular scheduled flights from the many of the main industrial centres in Australia and has partnered with some of the large mining and energy sector companies to provide fly-in fly-out flights to these remote locations. The client has traditionally operated a fleet of Fokker aircraft consisting of 70 and 100 models but have announced recently they are adding Embraer 190 jets to their fleet.
