Piper PA-18-135 Super Cub

The project was for new seat cover and cushion for a Piper PA-18-135 Super Cub. It’s a small aircraft with a single pilots seat. These aircraft are stripped back to a rudimentary frame interior, with every ounce of weight stripped out and the oversized tundra tires fitted.

The seat comprises a one-piece welded frame with no adjustments. The seat back cover fits down over the seat back frame. The seat bottom cover is then domed on the seat frame on the two sides with the frame exposed on the front face. 

The seat covers are made as a cover that encloses the cushion, like a squab, over against the cushion being glued to a sling. The seat covers are made using red leather which was requested with matching stitching in red. The center insert panel is broken up with horizontal seams.

The original Piper Cub logo was embroidered onto the seat back in full color. On the back of the seat is a large pocket for the storage of documents. The large pocket has two clear window pockets on the exterior of the pocket.
