THE PROJECT >

For this project was a flying club's beautiful Piper PA-28-181 Archer II. The aircraft was refurbished at our Nelson facility and included a full interior make-over. Many of the parts are available online on the Generation Global website

This plane’s interior trim included the sidewalls, carpets, and headlining. We also installed a brand new plastic trim kit, which was custom color-matched to the rest of the interior. Seats and sidewalls were upholstered in lead grey, while carpets were a slightly lighter ash grey. The plastics and headlining were done in white. The leather seats included dark red decorative stitching which matched the red accents on the plane’s exterior.

Each lead grey seat featured perforated inserts in the leather and the Piper logo carefully embossed into the upper backrests.

The aircraft’s sidewalls were matched with both the seating and the carpets. The upper sidewalls were furnished in a lead grey vinyl, while the lower sidewalls matched the carpet’s ash color. Two lines of red double stitching lines run horizontally along the sidewalls and the door panels, and all armrests were reconditioned and reupholstered using the same leather with red stitching. We also provided a convenient storage pocket on the forward sidewall for pilot storage.

The headlining is held in place with ribs that run the length of the aircraft. The Cherokee Archer has a sizable plastic console, which runs down the center of the aircraft and includes both air conditioning vents and ceiling-mounted seatbelts.
