Can you remember the orange and green Cessna interiors from the 60's and 70's?

How about bringing them back to life with a bit of a twist?

We were inspired the other day upon receiving a new set of carpet samples from a supplier which evoked some memories of the classic old Cessna interiors. So the idea has grown from there... Read on to see how the old Cessna interiors could be brought to life in a new, interesting and stylish way. How about rewriting the 60's and 70's in your own aircraft!

Carpet.

Color: Perma

Color: Empath

Perma is a new addition to our range of carpets. This color could be described as a "paprika" shade—a reddish-brown hue with warm undertones. Falling within the warm, earthy spectrum, it aligns with current trends in interior design. While darker than the original Cessna interior, it still bears a resemblance to the iconic color scheme.

Empath is another new addition to our range of carpets. This color resembles a shade of olive green, imparting an earthy tone that aligns perfectly with the current trend of earthy and natural tones in interior design. While slightly more earthy than the original Cessna carpet, it maintains a similar aesthetic while also introducing a modern touch to the interior.

Fabric.

Name: Adamson (Tritan) Paprika

Name: Fabio Ivory

Composition: 100% Polyester Tritan

Composition: 29% Polyester, 29% Acrylic, 21% Cotton, 15% Wool, 6% Viscose

Gingham has a timeless appeal, making it a staple in interior design. It's often used in nostalgic and vintage-inspired interiors, making it perfect for this aircraft interior. As a heavy commercial fabric, it's durable, ideal for aircraft use. The original interior featured a wide woven fabric, creating orange boxes on a cream background. Opting for this fabric maintains the iconic checkered effect, enhancing the interior's familiarity.

This bouclé fabric which is renowned for its distinctive looped texture, is currently on trend for upholstering seats. Its cozy feel and timeless charm make it a sought-after choice in contemporary interior design, adding a touch of sophistication to any space. And if the looks aren't good enough, this is a heavy commercial material which is known for its durability, making it suitable for long-lasting use. In the original Cessna interior, a check design with green and cream was featured. While this fabric doesn't replicate the check pattern, it brings in the cream that is needed to ensure that the green isn't too busy.

Leather.

Color: Beechwood - GP127

Color: Amazon - CG028

This is a fine Scottish leather with a luxurious texture. It is a warm and inviting color that is like the natural tones of beechwood timber. This color has a sense of timeless elegance and creates a sophisticated appearance.

This also is a fine Scottish leather. This color is rich and deep and is similar to the tones found in the Amazon rainforest. This color choice would add warmth and character to the interior. Once again this is an earthier tone than the original interior. However, the color pairs perfectly with the carpet, creating an aesthetically pleasing interior.

Bringing it together.

These colors complement each other nicely when put together. The gingham fabric introduces a touch of cream, preventing the paprika color from overwhelming the interior while adding visual interest. The selection of materials incorporates modern elements while still paying homage to the original interior design.

These colors complement each other perfectly. The dark leather color creates a striking contrast against the fabric. While respecting the original interior, these materials elevate it to a new level. The combination of olive and khaki greens has never looked better, especially with the cream added to tone the greens down.
